Douglas Lief's practice is comprised of defending manufacturers, primarily handling automotive lemon law cases for Ford Motor Company, in addition to asbestos and medical malpractice claims.
He recognizes the importance of effective communication in the courtroom. As a veteran member of the comedy troupe "Ultimate Improv", Douglas has applied his theatrical improvisational background to quickly adapt to unexpected situations in and out of the courtroom.
Douglas has chronicled several court appearances, including demurrers on a variety of issues from statute of limitations violations to the limits of Federal military regulations. He has also taken numerous depositions, including a plaintiff's deposition in a wrongful death / medical malpractice case.
Community involvement is important to Douglas as he volunteers his time to pro bono work for the Children's Law Center of Los Angeles and Bet Tzedek Legal Services. As a result of his efforts, he received the Wiley W. Manuel Award from the State Bar of California.
