Bard Borkon has extensive experience in defending products liability claims, nursing home patient care liability and commercial litigation matters. His practice has primarily focused on automotive products liability litigation, where he has been involved in seat belt, airbag and door latch trials.
His products liability experience includes representing corporate clients in Minnesota and other jurisdictions nationwide. He has participated in trials in Wyoming, Texas, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, Hawaii and Florida and has argued before the Missouri Supreme Court on behalf of a major automobile manufacturer. He has also defended cases involving a wide variety of other products, including computer keyboards, construction equipment, wood finishing materials, farm machinery, power tools, bicycles, and home water filtration equipment.
His healthcare litigation practice has focused on defending long-term care facilities in patient liability cases. In this area, he has successfully defended individual healthcare providers and facilities in numerous malpractice and negligence actions. He has also represented clients in commercial litigation, including breach of warranty, breach of contract and debtor/creditor matters.
